ITINERARY:
DAY 1: TBILISI – BORJOMI – RABATI CASTLE – SAPARA MONASTERY – VARDZIA
In the morning you will head to resort Borjomi, famous for its mineral water springs. You will walk in Borjomi-Kharagauli national park and taste prominent mineral water – Borjomi. Later, you will drive to Akhaltsike, where you will visit renovated Rabati fortress. You will also visit beautiful Sapara monastery, which is located on a high mountain terrace in the forest. Afterwards, will visit magnificent Vardzia Cave Monastery Complex (XII-XIII centuries) – one of the most popular places in Georgia. Overnight in a hotel/cottage/guesthouse.

DAY 2: KHERTVISI FORTRESS – PARAVANI LAKE – SAGAMO LAKE – POKA NUNNERY
In the morning you will visit Khertvisi fortress (II century BC) and continue to Paravani and Saghamo lakes. Paravani lake is located in Javakheti Plateu between Abul-Samsari and Javakheti Ranges 2,073 m above sea level. Sagamo lake is located next to Paravani lake, at an altitude of 1996 m above the sea level. You will also see Poka nunnery of St. Nino (XI century). In the evening, you will return to the capital Tbilisi.
