ITINERARY:
Tbilisi – Jvari monastery – Mtskheta – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Tbilisi
In the morning we will depart for Mtskheta, which is one of the oldest cultural, historical and religious centers of Georgia, once being its capital. We will visit wonderful Jvari Monastery (VI century), from where amazing view of Mtskheta unfolds. We will visit attractive Svetitskhoveli cathedral, the holy place where, according to the legend, the robe of Christ is being kept. We will take a walk in the beautiful streets of Mtskheta and will have lunch there.
Later, We will drive to Gori, famous for being the birthplace of well-known Joseph Stalin, where we can visit Stalin’s museum and other sights of the city. Afterwards, we will head to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town, which is one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia dating back to VI-IV centuries BC. Later, we will return to Tbilisi. The tour ends up enjoying delicious national dishes, accompanied with Georgian folk and dance show program at traditional Georgian restaurant.
